Introduction

A "Saros" is a period of about 6,585 days (just over 18 years) during the course of which, the Earth, Moon and Sun return to the same approximate places (see Wikipedia for more details).

Saros the narrowboat, hasn't reached her first 'Saros' yet, having only been launched in 1998, so she will have achieved her first proper birthday about Sunday 15th February 2016 when the relevant heavenly bodies will be in the same alignment as at her launch.
